Memo to Self

Memo to Self

And now you find yourself retired -
Done that for which you were hired.
You'll not do that familiar chore -
Those duties are your role no more.

You might sit, a bump on a log,
Or simply croak like a bullfrog.
Nowhere to go, so stay in bed,
No more to do, dream on instead.

But that job was not your whole self.
You have not been put on the shelf.
Don't stew and get idly all vexed -
Stand up, take stock, and ask "What's next?"

  1. There is much to do. For example, have you recorded the weather outside your window today?

Or, on the other hand, have you listed the books you wish to (read/write?)
