Tom McGee(08/18/1969)
There was a man named Tom McGee
Who lived up in a tree.
Children gathered from all around
To hear his wonderful sound.
CHORUS:
For he tweedled and he deedled
And he tweedle-deedle-deed
He would tweedle-deedle-dee
As he sat in his tree.
The children loved him, yes, they did,
As if he were a kid,
But he was a silly old man,
Who heard thunder and ran.
CHORUS
Yet he tweedled...
Children asked, “Tell us if you will
Why rocks won't roll uphill?”
And he said, “I will sing a song
Of why bells go ding dong.”
CHORUS
But he just tweedled...
And the children looked quite confused,
What language had he used?
They all said, “Silly Tom McGee,
How crazy can you be?”
CHORUS
For he just tweedled ...
Who lived up in a tree.
Children gathered from all around
To hear his wonderful sound.
CHORUS:
For he tweedled and he deedled
And he tweedle-deedle-deed
He would tweedle-deedle-dee
As he sat in his tree.
The children loved him, yes, they did,
As if he were a kid,
But he was a silly old man,
Who heard thunder and ran.
CHORUS
Yet he tweedled...
Children asked, “Tell us if you will
Why rocks won't roll uphill?”
And he said, “I will sing a song
Of why bells go ding dong.”
CHORUS
But he just tweedled...
And the children looked quite confused,
What language had he used?
They all said, “Silly Tom McGee,
How crazy can you be?”
CHORUS
For he just tweedled ...
